Fred Kowas is from Papua New Guinea and has many years of Chartered Accounting and Financial Management experience in Papua New Guinea, Australia and Vanuatu working for various companies including PwC, Tolukuma Gold Mines, Star Business, SRJ, PKF, Hevilift and Inchcape Shipping Services Ltd. Fred started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers where he spent over 10 years with the firm in both the PNG and Australian Offices before moving into industry.
Fred graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting from the University of Technology in Papua New Guinea and qualified with the Certificied Practicing Accountants of Papua New Guinea (CPA-PNG). Fred is also qualified with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and is one of only of few Papua New Guineans qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CA).
Fred has held various leadership positions during his career. This include being Treasurer and Vice President of CPA-PNG, company directorship with DRD Porgera Gold Mine Ltd and company secretary for Inchcape Shipping Services and Tolukma Gold Mines Limited.
