Stephan originally hails from Germany, where he completed his education and Trade in Cabinet making. He relocated to Australia in 1989 where he plied his trade in Far North Queensland.
In 1996 Stephan undertook his first visit to Papua New Guinea on a three month contract to manufacture fixed joinery for the Australian High Commission Building and the joinery fit out of Gurney International Airport in Alotau, and he has been here ever since, overseeing the smooth operation of the Cloudy Bay Forestry Ltd Wood Processing Centre and training the joinery staff in the intrinsic art form of woodwork and cabinetry for which the company is now renowned.
